Hate Spewing Rev. John Hagee Endorses McCain

In an attempt to reach out to the evangelical base John McCain is endorsed by nut case Rev. John Hagee. Not exactly the best endorsement in the world and sure to alienate the entire Catholic population of the United States. This demonstrates how desperate the McCain machine is to drum up support, regardless of where it comes from.

John Hagee is the pastor of the 18,000 member Cornerstone chruch in San Antonio, Texas. He believes we must support Israel. Not for altruistic reasons, but because as long as Israel exists the second coming of Christ will take place. Once Christ has returned then all the Jews can burn in hell as far as the good reverend is concerned.

In common with many American evangelicals, he believes that God gave the land to the Jewish people and that Christians have a Biblical duty to support it and the Jews.

His latest book, Jerusalem Countdown: A Warning to the World, interprets the Bible to predict that Russian and Arab armies will invade Israel and be destroyed by God.

This will set up a confrontation over Israel between China and the West, led by the anti-Christ, who will be the head of the European Union, Pastor Hagee writes. (Source: BBC News)

The other lunatic John, McCain, hasn’t done his homework. The views of Rev. Hagee are so strange and twisted that McCain must be out of his mind to even associate with Hagee or his church. In Hagee’s recent book he talks of his apocalyptic world view.

In his book “Jerusalem Countdown: A Warning to the World,” Hagee predicts Russian and Arab armies will invade Israel and be destroyed by God. Israel will then be the site of a battle between China and the West, which will be led by the anti-Christ in his role as head of the European Union. Jesus Christ will return to Earth in the final battle, he writes.

The book also claims Adolph Hitler and the Roman Catholic Church joined in a conspiracy to destroy the Jews.

“Our support of Israel has absolutely nothing to do with an end times prophetic scenario,” Hagee told reporters. “They are a democracy in the Middle East that deserves the support of America and the Christian people of America.”

McCain said on his campaign plane that he was not familiar with Hagee’s writings. “I think he’s a fine leader and I appreciate his commitment to Israel,” McCain said. (Source: Haaretz)

This doesn’t surprise most of us. Afterall, John McCain sees nothing wrong with this war in the middle east dragging out for another 100 years.

Then there is the Catholic voters. On one hand McCain is all for amnesty for the illegal aliens, most of whom are Catholic. On the other he revels in the endorsement of one of the worst Catholic baiters in the country.

Hagee, the founder and national chairman of Christians United for Israel, has referred to the Roman Catholic Church as a “false cult” and “the apostate church.”

McCain said Monday that he does not agree with some of Hagee’s past comments.

But Catholic League President Bill Donohue says McCain should follow the example of Democrat Barack Obama, who said he would “reject and denounce” any support from Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. (Source: KHAQ Channel 7 News)

The real tragedy of all this is that this is all the Republican party is left with. Insane McCain or Taliban Huckabee. One wants endless war the other wants to rewrite the Constitution to coincide with Christian canons. It is enough to make you want to crawl into a hole somewhere and not come out until after Armageddon.
