DNC Chairman Howard Dean, Florida Delegates and Disenfranchised Voters

Published by DaFrog under Historical,Political

Last year the Florida Legislature decided to have their primary elections earlier than the DNC wished. The reasoning behind the move by Florida lawmakers is understandable. Everyone is aware that the way things are now two small states with less than 1% of the population, Iowa and New Hampshire, determine who is going to be nominated. They have had too much influence for too long. Neither state is representative of the rest of the country. The demographics are skewed. Blacks and Hispanics are under represented in these two states. New Hampshire has a long history of leaning to the extreme left. Florida is more representative of the rest of the country. We have a large and diverse population of all ethnic groups and political leanings.

But when our legislature decided to hold our primaries earlier than Howard Dean and the DNC wished the DNC struck back. They said that Florida’s primary violated their rules and that the state’s delegates would not be seated in the August convention. Now everyone has seen the mess this had made out of the Democratic nominating process. Suddenly everyone is scrambling to find enough delegates to nominate either of the front runners. Yet Dean and his cohorts continue to punish Florida for not complying with their rules. Their attitude is typical of so many political parties today, they don’t realize they are here to serve the people, not the other way around.

And Howard Dean, remember him? He is the shrieking idiot who demonstrated to the country he was not ready for high public office in Iowa just a few years ago. His display of over enthusiasm and lack of control gave voters an opportunity to rethink their candidates and decide he was not fit. Yet, the Democrats in their infinite wisdom, appointed this idiot to chair the Democratic National Committee. Talk about out of touch with reality. What did they expect from this guy? Certainly not adult leadership.

So now, here in Florida, there is talk of a revote at the expense of the state. Florida is suffering enough from the economic woes of the present administration and not ready to take on the expense of another vote. Florida and Floridians cannot afford this. People are losing their homes, insurance is out of reach and taxes are killing us. As it is now we face severe reductions in those basic services we are accustomed to. Education, public safety and community services have all suffered from these hard economic times. We voted in January and that vote should either stand or like some have suggested any one or party that hasn’t recognized and seated our delegates has no business being on our ballots come November.

But the state Democratic Party doesn’t have the money, and neither does the national party. Crist said he would consider a “blend” of private dollars and taxpayer dollars, but Bubriski said the state party opposes public money for the election when education and health care face funding cuts.

Other legislative leaders suggest public funding of another primary is off the table.

“I can’t save the Democratic Party from Howard Dean,” said state House Speaker Marco Rubio, R-Miami. “Democrats voted, a lot of them voted. They voted and Hillary Clinton won. And those delegates should be seated. The only thing standing between Florida and its delegates being seated is not the Florida Legislature. It’s Howard Dean.” (Source: St Petersburg Times)

I agree with House Speaker Rubio on this one. Screw Howard Dean and the Democratic National Committee. They are obviously serving their own agendas and the will of the people does not enter the equation. It is time to remind these morons who they work for. If they won’t listen to us now, what makes you think they will if elected.
As things stand now, none of the potential candidates are fit for the office. They have been thrust upon us by the media and special interest manipulation of the democratic process. No matter which candidate wins this next election, the losers are going to be the American people.
